CABRI [1] is an integrated database of biological resources available in some of the best known European Biological resources Centres.

Database Description

The centres taking part in this project currently hold 28 collections covering most of the biodiversity: human and animal cells, bacteria, fungi, yeasts, plasmids, phages, plant viruses and cells, DNA probes. The total holdings of their collections are nearly 140,000 deposits (110,000 of which are currently included in the catalogues), which represent approximately half of available deposits in Europe (by reference to the European Culture Collection Organization (ECCO) membership, 1995).

Participating Centres are the following:

CABRI network services were developed at the Human Genome Mapping Project - Resource Centre (HGMP-RC) and are now maintained by the National Cancer Research Center of Genoa
